HEyheY Sara and Lewis……
Long, long ago, I ventured out your way and bought a pile of lumber, a big pile, if I recall correctly……Included was a rather large and wild hunk of Myrtlewood (Highly figured curly burl myrtlewood). It was about 10’ long and with an average width of 27’’. It was a rangy live edged beast and it sat in my shop for all these years until an engaging NYC fella popped into my shop and suggested we do something ‘never done before’…..well, at least in my shop.
Here’s what we came up with, a Myrtlewood and ebonized Sea Grape chest with Sycamore drawer sides and golden butterfly drawer pulls (provided by the client.
It’s 54’’ tall and, as is evidenced by the butterflied back, will stand in the middle of a room.
The Myrtle is breath takingly gorgeous…..Good of you to find such glorious expressions of our pal Mother Nature.
Wood is good
